| Those of us who have driven a car at night know that one should not stare at oncoming headlights of cars coming from the opposite direction. We look away, straight ahead or even slightly to the opposite side to better see ahead. |
Don't stare dumbstruck at obstacles. You are doomed if you do.
Instead, look for a path to safe progress ... and go for it!
I take a one hour brisk walk every day. Come rain or shine. Sometimes, I don't feel like braving the bitter cold, or the sweltering heat, or the rain.
But, each day, I take the first step anyway, knowing that I will be rewarded with a refreshing rejuvenating feeling when I get back.
One I have taken the first step (getting out the door), the next step is easy. The next one is easier still, and so on. By the tenth step, I am eager to continue!
My mind will be clear when I return. I will have stood back from my daily problems. I will have sorted them and found the gaps in them ... where the solutions lie.
Often, during these brisk walks, while my brain is feeding on pure oxygen, I will suddenly find the solution to a nagging problem. These moments often spawn some of my most brilliant ideas. The other idea spawning moments in my day are
I have learned to jot down immediately the essence of those sudden thoughts. That is why I always have paper and pen ready nearby.
I have also learned - by painful experience at times - that I cannot be successful without the help of others.
More often than not, others will help me indirectly.
That is how I can avoid "reinventing the wheel" and wasting precious time.
Out of the dozen or so books I read every year (other than novels ;-) here is one that I strongly recommend.
The War of Art, by Steven Pressfield.
It's only 165 pages and it is very easy to read. You won't be able to put it down until you finish reading it. So, set aside one or two quiet hours alone for it (depending on how fast you read).
You will likely devour it the first time around. It's that good. The next time you read it (and you will, trust me) you will still get a lot out of it, because you will have had time to think through some of its revelations on yourself!
I did not become a successful entrepreneur overnight. Nobody can. The secret behind my success, and that of others, is to act when the time comes to act!
Success comes from a succession of actions, each carefully chosen to contribute to your progress.
One can attempt to act alone. But that is a mistake that will lead you to failure.
The second secret behind an entrepreneur's success is learning how to avoid taking the wrong actions. That's where you put the experience and know-how of others to work for you.
For example, Dr. Ken Evoy developed a step-by-step self-marketing process that is guaranteed to make you a successful entrepreneur ... when you apply the process as directed.
You will become increasingly successful as you progress toward your goal every day ... one step at a time.
Take the first step and you will be on your way. Allow yourself expert assistance to start you off on a solid footing and guide your progress.
In fact, I strongly recommend that you only rely on
experts that have a verifiable track record
of being able to breed success, systematically!
By meticulously applying the SBI! 10 step process as directed, I was able to build a small business, from the ground up, on a micro budget, in complete safety.
SBI! is the expert guidance I needed
to concentrate my optimism, knowledge and know-how on my goal
and reach it.
