I became a business mentor gradually, over many years. My professional activities bring me in contact with dynamic entrepreneurs daily. When you are outdoors, exposed to the sun and wind daily, you can't help but get a tan. I was exposed to the concept of entrepreneurship in much the same way and it left a lasting impression on me.
If I am a small business mentor at heart today, it is a matter of personality. It is in my nature to be so.
Up until recently, my wife used to tease me a lot about my business mentoring activities. She would tell me that I was behaving like a mentor on a mission. It was her own gentle way of telling me that I was spending too much time mentoring and that I should relax a little!
I had retired early from my day job in late 1997. I wanted to be more available to promote entrepreneurship. I even took up teaching junior college students for a few years to better reach the upcoming younger generation.
My intention was - and remains - to plant the seed of entrepreneurship in the hearts and minds of motivated individuals.
Technology to the rescue!
Today, I use the power of a web site to increase my reach a thousandfold. I can be everywhere at once, all the time.
I do not spend all of my spare time coaching only a few persons anymore. Instead, I now spend only a few hours a week writing to anyone at large about how to become an entrepreneur. I publish the results on this web site for anyone to use as they see fit.
Since I decided to leverage the power of the internet to mentor aspiring web entrepreneurs, my wife and I spend much more time together now. I am seldom away coaching someone anymore.
Since I do not have to be physically available in a given spot to coach someone, we are also free to travel anytime we want now.
I can get on the internet from anywhere we are in the world. Because my web site is continuously online, I am now virtually available to help ... 24 hours per day, 7days a week, 365 days a year ... instead of only a few hours a week, as before! What a difference!
With the use of a web site, I can transfer my knowledge and know-how much more efficiently to countless individuals across the globe, instead of to just a few a year!
That is precisely what computers and the internet technologies were invented for. Together, they are the modern lever that can lift the world!
It is no small wonder my wife thinks the world of web technology ... now! However, she has not stopped teasing me, but now it is for reasons that are "beyond the scope of this web site".
So, I sincerely hope you enjoy this site as much as I enjoy building it. May it be useful inspiration to you.
