The Entrepreneur Test
That Ought To Be

There is one basic and critical question no internet entrepreneur test ever asks ... but should!

How do you build a viable online business
with no prior business or Web marketing knowledge?

It's a valid question, after all. Unless you want...

  • a vanity site or blog,
  • or want to promote a non-profit cause,

... then you need your business online presence to be profitable. Right?

But, when you pay for Web site builders and site or blog hosting, not a single penny will go toward training you to become a competent internet entrepreneur and business person!

How do you solve this problem? No business knowledge. No business. Period.

Before I answer this question, let's have a look at the most popular "solutions" offered to you.

The Appealing "Short Cuts"

Web and blog hosting services know full well that nobody will ask "How do I actually build a business with this"?.

Yet ... for a small basic monthly fee, they nevertheless imply (read - let you believe and convince yourself) that you can build a business online with their templates and services. After all...

  • Yahoo!'s Web Hosting home page does invite you to "grow your business" with a Web site built using their templates, and hosted on their servers. Doesn't it?

  • Go Daddy does invite you to grow "your own online business" with their new "business solution" bundle. Doesn't it?

Sure, you can build a Web site using their services. But, build a business, not to mention a profitable one? Really?

A Disturbing Enigma

I challenge you to find the answers to the following questions. (There are many more like these). I feel these questions should be part of any serious entrepreneur test.

About Yahoo!, Go Daddy, WordPress, BlogSpot and all the others...

  • Do any of them show you, step-by-step, how to build and manage a business online?

  • Do any of them show you what the best-of-breed online marketing practices are, and how and when to implement them?

  • Is the "business-building process" of any of them so good that universities and colleges offer business courses based on it?

No. None of the Web site hosting and blog hosting services train you to become good entrepreneurs and business persons.

Paying them a monthly fee is like renting a car
when you have not yet learned how to drive.
You'll be getting zero mileage for your money!

But please. Don't take my word for it. Investigate.
