My
Ethical
Decision Making Model

My code of ethics derived from a recognized ethical decision making model for Web entrepreneurs.

The professional counselor's ethical decision making model is based on the "Practitioner's Guide to Ethical Decision Making" to ensure that her/his professional services rests on a sound and ethical decision making process.

I am not a professional counselor.

Rather, I am an advisor and coach to aspiring Web entrepreneurs.

My intent and purpose is to ensure that those who seek my advice are...

  • presented with all the verifiable information necessary

  • to arrive at an informed decision about whether or not Web entrepreneurship is going to solve their problem and/or meet their expectations.

The professional counselor's fees are a reasonable compensation for their professional services and for the benefits that their clients gain from the counseling.

Reasonable fees are ethical when the advice and coaching are beneficial to the client.

To help you in your decision making process in all circumstances, allow me to recommend this course (on DVD): "Art of Critical Decision Making"

Guiding Moral Principles

The ethical decision making model I use is not as formal as the "Practitioner's Guide to Ethical Decision Making" but it is just as valid and appropriate.

I abide by the same moral principles as those governing the practice of a professional counselor. I am bound by a self-imposed code of ethics...

  • To foster responsible autonomy in my client, by all means at my disposal.

  • To teach my clients how to recognize and avoid business and marketing practices that might be harmful, both to my client and her/his clients.

  • To help my client recognize her/his strengths and weaknesses and proactively choose courses of action best suited to build up strengths while "weakening" weaknesses.

  • To treat people from all walks of life and knowledge background equally with personalized advice and coaching.

  • To instill the notion of mutual trust as the foundation upon which relationship with clients must be built. This applies first and foremost to the relationship with my own clients.

My Ethics And Commitment In Brief

Guided by the above mentioned moral principles and ethical decision making model ...

  1. I commit myself to developing my clients' ability to make rational and responsible business-oriented decisions as well as business-related life-changing decisions, based on a sound and proven decision-making process.

  2. I commit myself to ensuring that my clients gain from following my advice and personal coaching. Commensurate with their degree of personal commitment, my clients' gains are not only durable but grow over time by design.

  3. I commit myself to never promise results that are beyond my clients ability to obtain by following my advice and the proposed "Action Guide" as directed.

  4. I only recommend products and services that I use myself and that I know to be best-of-breed. For instance...
