Is This An Internet Marketing Article?

Book titled: 56 MILLION BEHIND AND RISING by Claude Jollet ISBN:142512828-9

Write a Internet marketing article, if marketing is your love. But, above all, write articles about what you know and love. Then, for greatest marketing impact, give your articles away!

The keys to effective article writing are highlighted in bold above. Coincidentally, the same keys open the doors to business success!

If you want people to flock to your Web site, and search engines to recognize your site as worthy of notice … and a higher ranking, do not write "throw-away" articles.

Your intended readers must want to read them. Therefore, make your articles as interesting, as significant, and as helpful as you possibly can.

Communicate your knowledge and passion in such a way that it will ring true. Your readers will love it and reward you for your generosity. They will be "naturally" and gently drawn to you and your Web site.

Write to inform first. Then, write to convince and persuade. Click here for more. Search engines will notice this favorable human behavior toward you. You can count on it.

Your articles must benefit your readers before they can benefit you. Here is, in a nutshell, and as I see it, how a successful Internet marketing article should be conceived.

A Very Special Conversation

How can you make sure that your articles will, indeed, benefit your readers?

The best frame of mind to put yourself into when you write an article, is to write it as if you were having a conversation with a good friend. Granted, an article may look like an one-sided "conversation" to you. It need not be. In fact, it must not be!

When you are communicating in writing, you are effectively taking into account the "silent but active" participation of the party you are "talking" with. Notice, I said "with", not "at".

In other words, this means that you must be prepared for the reactions of the person reading your article, be it a Internet marketing article or not. You must know when to "listen" attentively, and generously.

You have things to say. Your readers do too. So, take heed.

When should you listen? Timing is very important here. For an article, you must listen before you establish communication, that is, before you even begin to write your article.

You do all your "listening" when you do your research for the article. During that all important stage of article writing, you will have to make sure you, at least, know:

  • who your intended readers are,
  • what they like and dislike,
  • what they expect from you.

This knowledge is essential to any good Internet marketing article. Obviously, your articles will usually not be about marketing, for reasons already stated at the beginning of this article. But they will have a positive marketing impact if they are targeted well. Granted, that means a fair amount of research work. That is what I mean by having to be generous when you prepare to write an article. You must give your readers every possible opportunity to "tell you" all they can about themselves and their expectations.

You must be generous, and honest, in your efforts to discover all you can about your intended readership during the research stage for a given article.

Your generosity must shine through. You can accomplish this by "stepping aside", and by "stopping to listen", as often as you can during the actual writing of your article. You can do this by holding a simulated conversation in your head. You will "hear" your reader asking his questions, or giving his comments. You will have discovered these likely interventions during the research stage for your article.

Whether you are writing an article about your favorite pastime, or a Internet marketing article, try to reproduce the "give and take" of a " mutually profitable" exchange with a friend.

Read some of my published articles here .
Do not consider them as perfect examples.
Instead, be critical. Try to see how you could have done better!
The exercise will do you good!

What Do You Get Out Of Article Writing?

First, submit your articles or Internet marketing article to newspapers, magazines, and article directories. Allow free reprint rights, at the express condition that:

  • your article be reprinted verbatim (as is),
  • including your signature block, contact information, and short biography (if vailable).

Of course, if you have a Web site, please remember to include its URL in your signature block, and perhaps the URL to one of your Web pages giving information on the same topic as your article.

Traffic And Income

When your readers find your article (or Internet marketing article) interesting and helpful, they will contact you or visit your Web site. That is more traffic to your Web site that you will have reaped by "planting" your articles in different article directories, e-zines, etc.

These new visitors may be looking for more information, or perhaps a solution to a given problem. Be ready to deliver! Give, yes give, even more helpful information. Over-deliver.

Thus, having fully met their expectations, you will have put yourself in a good position to monetize their visit. You will have put your visitors in a positive and, perhaps, "buying" mood.

This is where your first profits obviously lie. At least, potentially.

The Web site page your article (or Internet marketing article) directed your readers to, could contain one or more of the following:

  • a solution in the form of a product, or a service,
  • an e-book containing more information,
  • a link to one or more suppliers with which you have an affiliation,
  • a few Google Adsense or Yahoo adds.

Inbound Links To Your Web Site

In addition, the free redistribution of articles has a "friendly viral effect". Each redistributed article (or Internet marketing article) becomes an additional inbound link to your Web site.

Inbound links are one of the more important indications that search engines (Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask, etc.) use to measure the popularity of your Web site. The more inbound links, the better, especially if they are from other high ranking, high quality Web sites.

Increased Search Engine Ranking

Book titled: 56 MILLION BEHIND AND RISING by Claude Jollet ISBN:142512828-9

The search engines use the inbound link information, among other things, to rank the pages of your site.

You can help push your Web site rankings at search engines in the top ten with quality articles.

So. What do you say? Was this a Internet marketing article? Would it be effective as a marketing tool for me, if published on several article directories? Find the answer here .
