Auto Link Checking : The Web Master Friend

One of the many tasks of a web master, and Web business owner, is to be on constant lookout for invalid links.

It is not good for business to send your Web site visitors off into a dead end! And the Googles of this world will even penalize you for not caring.

One of the many features of Site Build It! (SBI) is that it will alert me, automatically, if one of my links goes dead on me.

Once a week, a module of SBI, called Link Fix It!, scans all the links on all my Web site pages, both the links that point to another page within my site, as well as those that point out to another resource on the Web.

When I checked my emails this morning, I had a message from Link Fix It! sub-system module that a link to the Royal Bank of Canada had become invalid, on my page on free sample business plans.

The RBC had changed their site structure and probably put it on line over the weekend.

It took me only a few minutes to check where the RBC had moved the information I want to share with you on my Web page. Then it took a few minutes more to repair the link in my Web page.
